We all experience days when we are dissatisfied. We want “more” and forget what we have. It is important to show gratitude in such situations. In this way we can dissolve the feeling. This takes only a short moment. What’s happening in the world today? Newspapers and the TV-news report daily about fights for bare survival, about ill and maltreated beings. What is it we now see around us: in people we see, in the family, the community or our town? Couldn’t we immediately say: “I’m okay, I’m grateful for what I already have.” We bring even more gratitude into our life when we consciously rediscover the smallest things: the chirp of a bird, the movement of a tree in the wind, the beguiling scent of a flower, the beating of our heart, another person’s glance or the sensation of a touch on our skin. These things are generally just regarded as natural, but when we observe them consciously we can see their true miraculous nature. Gratitude is the feel and the joy of abundance, which is everywhere in us and around us. In this way we experience the miracle of life in its full vigour and open ourselves to “even more”.
